Devin Biography

Growing up in Vancouver, WA, there were only two things I ever wanted to do. Play centerfield for the Seattle Mariners or fight for justice as a Criminal Defense Attorney. With both parents practicing as lawyers, the world of legal arguments, intricate case studies, and unwavering dedication to justice permeated my childhood. My father worked doing business law, and my mother focused on criminal defense, which I gravitated towards growing up.

I managed to earn a Division 1 baseball scholarship at Youngstown State University; I began pursuing a career in law after earning my undergraduate degree in Finance. I attended Lewis and Clark Law School, where I focused on criminal courses and trial advocacy. During my time in Law School, I worked for Michael Fuller, Oregon’s Lawyer for the Underdog, who taught me how to advocate for others using civil advocacy. Building upon this foundation, I began working on public defense misdemeanor criminal cases in Battle Ground Municipal Court. I was eventually fortunate to be hired at Vancouver Defenders, the largest criminal defense firm in Vancouver, WA. There, I honed my skills further by working a Clark County District Court docket under the Honorable Judge James Smith. This experience provided invaluable courtroom experience and the realization that criminal law was the only area I wanted to practice. I have worked on hundreds of criminal cases and understand that any time you face [State of New Mexico vs. Your Name], it is an uphill battle that requires strategic criminal defense.
